Sonora Buenavista is a jam-session based project composed by Michael Ason, Gabriel Berthin, Miguel Colmenares, and Harold Fandino. The tracks presented on this EP were all forged during long-night sessions in a Miami Beach studio towards the end of 2007. After recording several parts from different hardware machines, the tracks were edited to form a cohesive selection of reduced micro-grooves with an accentuated latin feel to emphasize the heritage of all four members. Felipe Venegas spices things up with a twisted remix that owes as much to John Cage as it does to the Fania record label: while Fantasna lives up to his name and provides a raw, detroit influenced cut for forward thinking dancefloors.
